Flashcard (Front and Back)

Front (Question)

Define and explain the concepts of validity and reliability

Back (Answer)

VALIDITY refers to the degree to which our test is truly measuring what we intended to measure. Often called GENERALIZABILITY, it is also concerned with the degree to which the results of the research are transferable to or representative of the people to whom we plan to market.

RELIABILITY is synonymous with CONSISTENCY. If you repeat the research under similar conditions, you should get similar results. To be reliable, it must be REPEATABLE
