Spinal Reflexes

Reflex: a rapid automatic response to a change in the external or internal environment.

Message not necessarily carried to brain - reflex carried out in spinal cord alone.

Pathway a nerve impulse follows in travelling from a receptor to an effector is known as a reflex arc, or in the case of a spinal reflex a spinal reflex arc.
